XMQL-φ420×450 Laboratory Grid Ball Mill & Closed-Circuit Grinding System
Laboratory Closed-Circuit Grinding Overview:
The XMQL-φ420×450 is a compact, integrated laboratory grid ball mill and classification system, designed specifically for ore beneficiation research units, intermediate experimental plants, and university laboratories. Unlike single grinding machines, this complete system includes a Φ420×450 grid ball mill, a Φ150×1200 spiral classifier, a 35L pendulum feeder, and a Φ90×600 screw conveyor. Therefore, it forms a fully closed-circuit continuous grinding and classification loop. It is ideal for conducting ore selectivity research experiments, determining the ore grindability index, or grinding fine materials in other industrial sectors.
How the Closed-Circuit System Works?
The system operates on a continuous closed-loop principle. First of all, the pendulum feeder uniformly delivers raw ore (5-10mm) into the ball mill. Subsequently, the grid ball mill grinds the material using steel balls as the grinding media. Then, the ground slurry is discharged into the spiral classifier. Here, the classifier separates fine particles (≥0.074mm) as overflow while returning coarse sand back to the ball mill for regrinding. Consequently, this continuous loop ensures uniform product size and highly efficient grinding.
Features of Our Laboratory Grid Ball Mill

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the main application of this laboratory grid ball mill?
A: It is primarily used for continuous grinding or measuring the ore grindability index in beneficiation laboratories, research institutes, and intermediate experimental plants.
Q: Does this machine require a concrete foundation?
A: No. The electrical equipment and water supply system are pre-installed at the factory. You only need to unpack, secure the four anchor screws, and connect the water pipe and power supply.
Q: Can I adjust the final particle size?
A: Yes. By adjusting the slope of the classifier, the spiral rotation speed, and the water consumption ratio, you can control the overflow fineness to meet specific test requirements.
