Centrifugal Concentrator for Fine Gold Recovery
What is a Centrifugal Concentrator?
A centrifugal concentrator (also known as a Knelson-type concentrator) is an advanced gravity separation device designed to recover fine and ultra-fine gold particles that traditional gravity equipment cannot capture efficiently. Unlike jig machines that are suited for coarse gold, or shaking tables that handle medium-size particles, the centrifugal concentrator uses a high-speed rotating bowl to create a centrifugal force field of 300–400G, amplifying the density difference between gold and gangue. Therefore, it is particularly effective for recovering liberated gold from grinding circuits, placer deposits, and tailings re-processing.

Key Advantages of Our Centrifugal Concentrator
Exceptional Fine Gold Recovery: Recovers gold particles as fine as 0.004mm with a recovery rate of up to 97%. For placer gold, recovery can reach 98% or more; for rock gold with feed size below 2mm, recovery reaches 97%.
Extremely High Enrichment Ratio: The upgrade ratio can reach 1,000 times, producing a high-grade concentrate that can be directly smelted or further upgraded on a shaking table.-1
No Chemicals, No Pollution: The process uses only water and electricity—no reagents, no mercury, and no environmental contamination.
Compact & Easy to Install: Requires only a small leveled area. The full-line unit is ready for operation after connecting the water pump and power supply.
Simple Operation & Adjustment: Only two factors affect recovery—water pressure and feed size. Once optimized, the operator only needs to recover concentrates every 2–4 hours.

Working Principle: Centrifugal Force + Backwash Water
The machine operates on a dual-force principle inside a rotating conical bowl:
Centrifugal Enrichment: Slurry is fed into the rotating bowl. Under high-speed rotation, dense minerals (including gold) are thrown outward and trapped in the riffles, while lighter gangue particles are carried upward by the water flow and discharged as tailings.
Backwash Water Fluidization: Low-pressure backwash water is injected through the water jacket, periodically flushing the riffles. This fluidization allows heavier gold particles to penetrate deep into the riffle zone, while lighter particles are rejected, achieving a concentrate upgrade ratio of up to 1,000 times.
Batch Cycle: The concentrator operates in a semi-batch mode. After a set cycle (typically 1–4 hours), the concentrate is discharged and the machine resumes operation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the smallest gold particle size this concentrator can recover?
A: It can recover gold particles as fine as 0.004mm, with a recovery rate of approximately 97% for this size fraction.
Q: How often do I need to clean out the concentrate?
A: The cleaning-up cycle is typically 1–4 hours for vein gold and 2–6 hours for placer gold, depending on the grade of your ore.
Q: Does this machine require chemicals?
A: No. The centrifugal concentrator uses only water and electricity. It is a completely physical separation process with zero chemical pollution.
Q: Can I use this concentrator for tailings re-processing?
A: Yes. It is widely used to recover fine gold from old tailings, grinding circuit discharges, and flotation concentrates where fine gold has not been fully captured.
